What is the processing of cosmetic glass bottles?

Cosmetic glass bottles are made of silicate materials such as quartz sand and limestone, which are calcined and melted into liquid at a high temperature of nearly 1,600 degrees, then molded, and then annealed, and cooled. Cosmetic glass bottles are generally classified by material color and are divided into fine high white, high white, normal white, green material, tea material, and so on. Cosmetic glass bottles are generally formed by blowing and pressure-blowing methods. The blowing method is generally suitable for narrow-mouth bottles, such as the bottle shape of packaging water and milk products, and the pressure-blowing method is generally suitable for wide-mouth bottles, such as the bottle shape of packaging cream products. The process of cosmetic glass bottle products is also known as cosmetic glass bottle deep processing, refers to the surface or the inner wall of the glass bottle deep processing, such as sand masking, silk-screening, hot stamping, spraying, electroplating, polishing, etc., so that the surface of the cosmetic glass bottle presents different technological effects. Next, we will discuss the processing of cosmetic glass bottles.

The following is the list of contents

  • Sandblasting for cosmetic glass bottle

  • The screen printing of glass bottle

  • Hot stamping process for cosmetic glass bottles

Sandblasting for cosmetic glass bottle

Sandblasting of cosmetic glass bottles refers to the formation of visible crystals on the surface of glass bottles by acid etching through solutions containing hydrofluoric acid and hydrofluoric acid vapor, sandblasting makes the most common processing practice for cosmetic glass bottles after processing. This process has a wide range of applications, not only adapted to the high and low-temperature environment but also adapted to screen printing, spraying, electroplating, applique and other processing processes, at the same time, sand masking plays a role in enhancing the adhesion of the post-processing process of glass bottles. However, in the process of acid etching jig is easy to produce and the glass bottle mouth does not match the situation and makes the sand masking powder into the glass bottle. In addition, the glass bottles processed by the sandblasting process are also prone to light leakage, which affects the appearance of the glass bottles and is not conducive to the spraying of glass bottles. The way to solve the phenomenon of light leakage is to ensure that the glass bottle is dry and clean, and not with any oil.

The screen printing of glass bottle

Screen printing is commonly used in daily high-temperature screen printing, low-temperature screen printing. Low-temperature screen printing using the ink for the oil, after printing after about 150 degrees of low-temperature baking, some screen printing does not need to go through the baking, printing is completed after the natural placement of drying can be shaped. The advantage of low-temperature screen printing is that the colors are diverse, the ink is stable, and the color difference of the products produced is small. Low-temperature screen printing has higher requirements for design, such as screen lines or finer text to achieve better printing results. The disadvantage of low-temperature screen printing is that the ink negative force is not strong, easy to rub flowers, touch flowers. High-temperature screen printing ink used for powder froth, after printing need to go through 550-700 degrees of high-temperature baking, its advantages are friction resistance, not easy to lose color, strong adhesion, bright colors, more vivid color; its disadvantage is that the color is limited, easy to produce a color difference, part of the color high-temperature screen printing cannot do a good job, such as purple, too fine text and lines cannot better show.

Hot stamping process for cosmetic glass bottles

The hot stamping process requires a temperature between 100-200 degrees, which is similar to the temperature required for low-temperature screen printing. Before stamping, the base color screen printing must be completed first, if the stamping process of the base color ink and low-temperature screen printing ink is basically the same, generally using gray as the base color. Hot stamping also needs to preheat while controlling the temperature of preheating. The same product can take both high-temperature screen printing and low-temperature hot stamping, but must first complete the high-temperature screen printing and then low-temperature printing and stamping.

In addition to the above processes, deep processing of cosmetic glass bottles there are two common processes, namely electroplating, and spraying. The knowledge about electroplating and spraying we left in the article "The plating and spraying process of cosmetic glass bottle" for detailed introduction.
